Text Box: -To use the Graphic Equalizer on your sample select Effects—Filters—Graphic Equalizer, from the Cool Edit menu.
-Each band controls a frequency, starting with low-high from the left-right just like any standard equalizer. If you read my tutorial on filtering, then you already understand how to setup the equalizer for low/mid/high pass. You can also use the equalizer to prepare the mastering of your final product. Furthermore, you can select whether to modify 10, 20, or 30 bands. The more bands you modify the more precise or specific you can filter. For example, if I want to amplify a trumpet within my mixed sample, and it’s main frequencies are 400-800 then I could amplify those exact frequencies with 30 band editing.
-To test how your sample will sound with the modified settings, select the Preview button. You can also use the Preset options, or create your own Preset by selecting the Add button. To save your preset type a name for your template and select OK. You can now use your Preset equalizer settings on any other sample by selecting it from the list.
